Overview

NCBA has long served as a leading resource on issues affecting older adults, working to ensure access to the tools and support needed to age with dignity and independence. Founded in 1970, NCBA has contributed to shaping national conversations around aging and helping ensure the needs of older Americans are considered in public planning and decision-making.

Throughout its history, NCBA has supported efforts to improve economic stability, healthcare access, affordable housing, and workforce participation for individuals aged 55 and over. Through collaboration with public agencies, policymakers, and service organizations, NCBA continues to promote practical approaches that enhance the quality of life for older adults.

As one of the nation’s longest-standing organizations focused on aging, NCBA remains committed to helping older Americans live productive, engaged, and self-sufficient lives.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., NCBA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a dedicated Board of Directors.

Karyne Jones

President & Ceo

Karyne Jones is President and Chief Executive Officer of the NCBA, Inc. and NCBA Housing Management and Development Corporation. During its 55-year history, NCBA is a national organization devoted to providing effective leadership in supporting older adults as a national issue and priority in affordably senior housing, training and employment opportunities and health education. A native San Antonian, former Texas legislator, school trustee, legislative aide, adjunct professor, corporate and non-profit executive, Karyne is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University where she received her bachelor’s degree in political science and Northern Illinois University with a master’s degree in public affairs. She earned a second master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University. She currently serves as Vice Chair on the national governing board of the Alzheimer’s Association, past chair of the American Society on Aging. Honored with a Washington Brava! Award by SmartCEO Magazine as a top female CEO, Influencer in Aging by Next Avenue Magazine, she was recognized by her alma mater, Northern Illinois University, as a Distinguished Alumnus.

Elias Hussein

Executive Vice President

Elias Hussein has been with NCBA since 1978.
He oversees operations in all of the organization’s program areas.

Director of Health Programs

Angie Boddie joined NCBA in 2004.
She directs all health promotions, advocacy, and education programs for NCBA.
